I need a recommendation for a smart phone for a family member. The requirements are easy to use (no more complex than an iOS device) and resistant to breaking by dropping (So no iPhone 4/4S with easily broken glass). I would just recommend an iPhone 4 or 4S as she uses an iPod Touch, but the fragility of the glass when dropped is an issue. Anyone have any ideas for something easy to use and not easily broken?
I'm in possession of a Windows Phone Mango Device, an Xbox 360, and a BlackBerry Playbook (It was a gift, don't judge me). What I want to know is if I am better off using a service like Spotify which has no proprietary requirements or should I go totally Microsoft and get a Zune Pass? Either way I am looking for a Spotify-like service to phase out iTunes or Zune music purchasing.
I'm up for my upgrade next month, and it doesn't look like I'll be able to get what I really want (a Windows phone) anytime soon. I don't want the iPhone, so I'm just wondering what the best options are.
I love my Nokia N9 .. it's amazing device with very good OS .. but I also love Windows Phone, and when I saw Lumia 800 I thought about replacing it. Some friends told me not to do so, because it would be considered a downgrade .. so I'm confused .. what you guys think?
I've been living in South Korea for six months and there were no Windows phones on sale here at that time, so I ended up going with a cheaper phone in the Galaxy line (no carrier subsidies here). The experience has been horrible. There have been random resets and I loathe the memory management for onboard/SD card apps. The carrier has me stuck at 2.2, so I'm not even able to update some of Google's own apps because of fragmentation. As there is no unified experience, which was a favorite thing...

I noticed today that in general there really aren't many Windows Phone docks/charging stations/speakers on the market. Where are they? Am I missing something?
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a new phone and interested in a Windows Phone 7. I currently use a Nokia 5800 mostly because it's an unlocked phone that is not charged the data premium from AT&T. I only pay $10 for unlimited data and I'd like to find a Windows Phone that can do the same.
My theory is, if phone is carried by AT&T, it can be recognized and then they'll ask you to increase your data plan.
So any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks.
My dad needs a new phone. He likes the ability of todays smartphones to be synced all the time but does not want to pay for a data plan. So I'm looking for a solution for him to sync his phone with the computer via USB and have a decent experience to check adresses and calendar on the phone. Email is not important to him as he is stationary on the computer for work. He is not the chatty type of person ;) I don't think the iPhone is the right thing for him as he does not want iTunes on his...

I'm hoping to move to a new carrier within the next few months, and I'm really considering Sprint. AT&T it automatically out for me, as 1. I don't trust AT&T coverage AT ALL. 2. AT&T generally isn't great in my area. Verizon is good, but some of their plans are a bit too expensive for my tastes. So I looked to Sprint. I want Windows Phone, and the only here is the Arrive. The Arrive isn't by definition old, it launches earlier this year, and has the usual specs for a Windows Phone...

When using your mobile device which do you tend to go for: the mobile optimized web site or the native app? I never really thought many people used mobile browsers until listening to an older TWiT:AAA discussing browsers there was an overwhelming support for DolphinHD due to it's LastPass integration. I don't recall ever really finding myself browsing a ton of different sites that would necessitate using a browser just for LastPass integration. I've always been a supporter of native apps because...

I've been loving me test drive of windows 8. it's smoother than windows 7. But... All the features that make it really worth having are for a touch screen. I'm currently rocking a Toshiba satellite with a single core Celeron cpu. its a 15" in netbook. I love touch screens but i hate tablets. I'm looking for a convertible laptop. something like a Lenovo X220 or a dell latitude xt2 or a HP touchsmart tx2. But not as heavy as these 3. i like these because they have the power i want but unlike the...

I am using a Samsung focus now but I was thinking about moving over to Android so I could try out the new Samsung Galaxy s2. I don't use many apps at all. I mainly just use exchange and gmail.
So I had a few shirts made for my podcast last week, and I put QR codes on the back that link to our site so that people can scan them. Most of my friends own Android devices, so I know they can scan them, but I am curious to know if other devices (besides Android) can scan/use them, or if QR codes are Android exclusive.
Over the coming months, we will be seeing some of the most anticipated updates to the major mobile operating systems that we've seen in awhile. Of course I'm talking about Windows Phone 7 Mango (7.5), Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and iOS 5. What I want to know though, is which one you personally most anticipated for and why? Personally, I'm looking forward to iOS 5 the most, or more specially, the iPhone 5. I am really excited to see what Apple introduces this year. Mango would be my #2 but...

I've been thinking about switching from my iPhone 4 to Windows Phone for a while and I think this might be the phone to finally convince me to make the switch. My biggest concern is the lack of maturity in the app store and lack of vital apps such as Dropbox. Anyone else made the same switch and have some advice as to offer?
I know that Zune is not getting any new hardware, and I'm a fan, so i keep looking around for a deal on a WP7 that I could use as just a PMP with the benefits of Live and Zune over wifi, but everything runs $500. I like using android as my phone, but love my Zune as PMP, plus i like keeping my player separate from my phone. Wouldn't it make sense for some company to make this kind of thing?
Windows Phone 7 is Microsoft's upcoming successor to Windows Mobile, announced at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress in 2010. It abandons compatibility with Window Mobile programs and replaces it with an intuitive, rebuilt user interface; Xbox Live integration, and full support for Zune music and video services. Microsoft will not manufacture it's own hardware, instead it will continue to license the Windows Phone operating system to third party partners; including Dell, HTC, Garmin-Asus, Samsung and LG. Phones built by these partners must adhere to a clearly defined chassis specification and a set of features all Windows Phone 7 devices must
