  • Ease of use WP moves beyond simple app-launching/switching with smart integration of mail, social networks, contacts, msging & apps that streamlines phone interactions. great!
  • Speed Quick, responsive, buttery smooth. Has never frozen or crashed in the 16 months I've owned it. great!
  • Configurability Consolidate some or all mail. pin single mail folder to start screen. Every preinstalled app can be uninstalled. great!
  • Ecosystem (apps, drivers, etc.) Easy to get, install, uninstall, reinstall apps. I'm able to meet my current app needs with the 80,000 apps currently available. (April 2012) great!
  • Openness I have no inclination whatsoever to root my phone or use it as a mass storage device. With that as a premise, this OS far exceeds my expecations for openness. great!
Detailed review
If you are a person who enjoys installing and reinstalling operating systems onto handheld computers that also happen to send and recieve phone calls; if you view phones as small computers that should have desktops, files, and folders; if you judge a phone by the number of cpu cores rather than its in-hand fluidity and usability; then this is not the phone OS for you. If you, on the other hand, upload photos to Facebook, Tweet on occasion, interact with people individually and in groups via multiple streams (IM FB CHAT TXT) and want a phone that can handle these tasks in a cohesive and intuitive way; if you're someone who's tired of freezes and task-killing processes; if you're someone who wants a phone to facilitate interactions with people rather than interactions with apps; then you should take a good hard look at phones with Windows Phone 7.
