Detailed review
I've used almost every Microsoft Oporating system ever created, a number of distros of Linux, and Mac OSX. I will say Windows 7 is my highest recommendation of Operating systems available. I've always been an early adopter of new technology, and was happy with Vista compared to XP (once drivers were resolved)

I will say my expert opinion is all indaviduals and companies who are able to should update their Windows OS to Windows 7 (If you're using XP or 2K shame on you!) If you're still running Internet Explorer 6 or 7 update to Internet Explorer 8 already!

Windows 7 has tried to find a healthy balance between security, while not being nearly as hurassing as Vista was. (granted I personally didn't have a problem with Vista as once I setup my computer properly, I only on the rare occasion had to access the computer at the Administrative level) But I also use Linux as well so I've always felt strongly you should NEVER run as administrator (Root for fellow Linux users) I'm glad Microsoft finally is clamping down on that security concern. Now we just need to start clamping down on programmers who are still coding their software to require administrative rights without real reason.

I would say if you're looking at Operating Systems your best bet is Windows 7, if you're into Open Source or want a second option I would say Ubuntu 9.10 is a close second in my book. (I run the netbook remix edition on my netbook)
