What's a good wireless router to have for sharing media between devices?
So I'm here in a tiny dorm style room in Australia for the next two years and there's no wifi. Because of that, many of my wifi depedent devices are useless. What's a good router to have that's primary useage is networking my devices together (ex: streaming a movie from my laptop to my ps3)? Also, is it a standard feature in routers to be able to connect to a VPN? (Sorry if that sounded really stupid...I'm dumb when it comes to networking) I want my router to be able to connect to a VPN (if...

Anyone have recommendations for a Bluetooth keyboard that will work with Windows 7 as well as iOS (iPad)?
Looking for a new keyboard for up at work and ideally I would like to have a Bluetooth wireless keyboard that I could bind to both my Windows 7 laptop as well as my iPad and then toggle back and forth between the two as needed. Effectively I am looking for something similar to the new Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K760 (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboards... solution, but for Windows. Any ideas?

Software to Database your movie library (Blu-ray and dvd) ?
I was just wondering if there is a good software that would allow me to create a database of my blu-ray and dvd movies. Some of my movies have been already archived using handbrake and so forth. The software that i am seeking actually would prevent me from buying a movie twice :) .

My sister deleted my graduation video. What's the best software for recovering it off the SD card?
Well, I think the title says it all.
The software will have to be able to run on Windows 7 and, if it matters, the SD card utilizes a FAT32 file system.
Any help would be great, thanks!

Why is my laptop acting strange? Halp
It takes a long time to turn back on from sleep mode (about 5-10 min). The screen is black, but the buttons are lit and I can hear the fans. Eventually the welcome screen will come up and everything is normal from there. Computer is fast, no glitching, etc. Also, I should mention that my caps lock light and number lock light flash every 4 seconds. Maybe that has some importance. Thanks for helping

What's the best way to adjust a laptop's monitor for optimal viewing?
About a month ago I got the Dell UltraSharp U2312HM which is an IPS monitor. I typically have my ThinkPad hooked up to the monitor with my laptop closed. In the past, I didn't really mind the "terrible" screen that many pointed out about the laptop, but ever since I got used to the IPS monitor I cringe everytime I have to deal with the whitewashed, terrible viewing angle, monitor of the ThinkPad.
How do you adjust your monitor's display to be as best as it could be? I know that the ThinkPad's... Read more →

Is it possible to boot Windows XP from an external hard-drive?
I have a 4 and a half year old laptop that originally came with Windows XP. About a year ago, I bought a new hard-drive, swapped it into my laptop, and put Windows 7 on it. There are times, however, that I need to access certain applications that are on my Windows XP hard-drive. The only way I've been able to do this so far is to swap the hard-drive back in.
I have tried booting the Windows XP hard-drive from usb with an external hard-drive enclosure but unfortunately every time Windows XP begins... Read more →

Spotify or Zune Pass?
I'm in possession of a Windows Phone Mango Device, an Xbox 360, and a BlackBerry Playbook (It was a gift, don't judge me). What I want to know is if I am better off using a service like Spotify which has no proprietary requirements or should I go totally Microsoft and get a Zune Pass? Either way I am looking for a Spotify-like service to phase out iTunes or Zune music purchasing.

Best $700 range laptop?
I was looking into buying a separate laptop for Windows Phone development since I have a Mac, and am not interested in running a virtualization of Windows. I am wanting a sub-700 dollar laptop with reasonably good specs and preferably a 15" or larger display.

Is there some way for NFC data transfer between PC and Smartphone?
NFC seems like a cool new tech and I've already go plans to try it out using stickers to trigger certain functions about the house, but is it possible to transfer data between my Galaxy Nexus and my Windows 7 PC?
I've been inspired by HP's Envy 14 Spectre, and was wondering if there are any chips or peripherals available. I've found USB readers/writers, but they don't seem to have the same function.

How is Windows performance when using Bootcamp?
I'm thinking of setting up a Bootcamp partition to use with Steam since some of my games are not OSX compatible. Most of the stuff I play is lower resource indie stuff so I wont be looking for high end graphics, just a more compatible platform my steam library. If you've done this what have been your results with using this method?

Diary/journal app with multiplatform syncing?
I'm looking for a diary/journal app that can be synced across multiple platforms (OS X, iOS, Android, Windows). So far, I only find the app "Day One" that has at least syncing across OS X and iOS via dropbox. Any other suggestions?

I need to have an external mouse or keyboard be able to wake up a PC laptop from sleep mode
So I'm playing tech support for the parents this holiday as I'm sure many of us here are. My father has a windows laptop, and now has a new monitor to pair with it for expanded screen real estate. He's using a logitech mouse and keyboard as well, for essentially a desktop PC style setup. The laptop lid can remain closed now with the external display and peripherals, there's no need for it to be open. The trouble is, the external mouse and keyboard seem to have to no way of waking up the computer...

Should I Get the 13-inch Macbook Air or the 13-inch Macbook Pro?
Hi, i am looking to get a new laptop in the early part fo the year and have settled on two options: the 13-inch Macbook Air with the 128GB SSD or the 13-inch base Macbook Pro.
I will be using the laptop as my primary computer, as well as for some iOS development. I will also be dual booting the laptop with Windows 7 using Bootcamp so that I can use Visual Studio, as I also develop Windows Phone 7 apps.
So the real question is, shoul i opt for the 13 unch Macbook Air witht her 128GB SSD or the... Read more →

How come my uptime in OS X Lion is so bad?
This is something that's been bothering me since I've installed Lion. My uptime with Apple's latest OS is really bad. Basically, I need to restart my machine every 2 or 3 days. Memory leaks, crashing apps, etc.
Interestingly enough, this is the first OS upgrade in awhile that I did without clean wiping my machine. I wonder if there's some lingering software that's causing issues? Other people I've talked to haven't had as many problems with Lion as I've been having.
