I'm in possession of a Windows Phone Mango Device, an Xbox 360, and a BlackBerry Playbook (It was a gift, don't judge me). What I want to know is if I am better off using a service like Spotify which has no proprietary requirements or should I go totally Microsoft and get a Zune Pass? Either way I am looking for a Spotify-like service to phase out iTunes or Zune music purchasing.
I was looking into buying a separate laptop for Windows Phone development since I have a Mac, and am not interested in running a virtualization of Windows.I am wanting a sub-700 dollar laptop with reasonably good specs and preferably a 15" or larger display.

I've been inspired by HP's Envy 14 Spectre, and was wondering if there are any chips or peripherals available. I've found USB readers/writers, but they don't seem to have the same function.
I'm thinking of setting up a Bootcamp partition to use with Steam since some of my games are not OSX compatible. Most of the stuff I play is lower resource indie stuff so I wont be looking for high end graphics, just a more compatible platform my steam library. If you've done this what have been your results with using this method?
I'm looking for a diary/journal app that can be synced across multiple platforms (OS X, iOS, Android, Windows). So far, I only find the app "Day One" that has at least syncing across OS X and iOS via dropbox. Any other suggestions?
So I'm playing tech support for the parents this holiday as I'm sure many of us here are. My father has a windows laptop, and now has a new monitor to pair with it for expanded screen real estate. He's using a logitech mouse and keyboard as well, for essentially a desktop PC style setup. This is something that's been bothering me since I've installed Lion. My uptime with Apple's latest OS is really bad. Basically, I need to restart my machine every 2 or 3 days. Memory leaks, crashing apps, etc. Interestingly enough, this is the first OS upgrade in awhile that I did without clean wiping my machine. I am currently using windows 7 SP1 and whenever I right click on anything in windows explorer, this means, the desktop, start menu, and folder windows, windows explorer will crash. I tried to run sfc.exe /scannow but can not because I need Administrator privelages, and while I am the administrator, I can not right click it to access these privileges. I need a powerful and durable Windows based 15" laptop mainly for a lot of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign work, plus a resource-heavy Chrome browser (because of the fact I usually have about 15 tabs open and I use a lot of extensions) and of course Winamp blasting out tunes. I'd like to stay PC if possible. I can't really afford the premiums on Mac systems. If it's a huge difference editing on a Mac then I might just pony up the extra benjamins to secure one. I'm quite familiar with both Win and OS X so user experience with one or the other isn't an issue.
Long time Windows user here looking to switch to Mac. My current setup is an Windows 7 desktop. I use iTunes to manage my media, which I store on a Drobo as my NAS. Occasionally, when I take my computer out of standby, the screen becomes all fuzzy and pixelated. I'm not sure if that provides an accurate description but I'm not sure how else to describe it. When this happens, it is basically impossible to navigate the screen. I haven't seen any pattern that could identify the source of this problem. It seems pretty random. Can anyone help me? I like to listen to music on my iPhone while I work (on a Windows 7 PC), but sometimes I want to watch a Youtube video or something on my PC where I want to be able to hear it.
