Executives dying for an ultraportable mouse to go with their Windows 8 or Android tablet will find a beautiful companion in the Wedge Touch Mouse, but it's a lot to pay for a pretty basic set of functions.

The Microsoft Mobile Touch Mouse is tiny and lets you take Windows 8-friendly four-way scrolling anywhere.

On the downside, the right click problem caused us some heartache from time to time, and the scrolling can sometimes be a little temperamental. But for the most part, this tiny little rodent does an amazing job - one of the best Microsoft Touch Mouses we've tried.

It's not cheap, or big. And on first site the Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse looks as though it wouldn't be comfortable for long-term use. But like Windows 8 itself, we found it surprisingly comfortable and efficient to use. It's well built, and stylish. And it is the best way to mouse around Windows...

The mouse would be too small to use comfortably for long periods, but after a few days of sustained use, it proved to be much more comfortable than we thought, and easy to sling into a bag with a laptop or tablet.

Microsoft’s Wedge Touch Mouse is all potential with no actualization. It has all the potential of a smartly built touch-enabled mouse, with easy to use swipe or other touch gesture functions, but nothing to actually make prospective buyers interested in purchasing one.

For $70, this is no cheap mouse, and it's not going to be worth it for a non-Windows 8 user. Once you're upgraded your OS, however (or if your tablet uses Windows 8), it's worth taking a look at if aesthetics and extreme portability are important to you.
