Looking for a PC equivalent of Apple's Magic Mouse? The Microsoft Touch Mouse is it, and as unique and useful a pointing device as you'll find for Windows 7 PCs.

With its gesture-based controls, Microsoft's Touch Mouse provides unparalleled control over your Windows 7 environment. However, to take full advantage of it, you essentially have to relearn everything you ever knew about working with a mouse, from scrolling to clicking to minimizing and maximizing windows (the gestures can be disabled from the Control Panel if you like the feel of the mouse and don't want to use them). The Touch Mouse does have a good, comfortable feel in the hand, and if you're willing to take the time to get used to its gestures, you may find it useful. But if you're happy with the level of control you get from your current mouse, there's little reason to switch.

After getting hands-on with the Touch Mouse, it really is an entirely new sense of control over your machine that is, in short, delightful. Again, the idea is fantastic. But until they can make those controls more reliable, it’s hard to recommend it.
Read the full review →This device is comfortable for long-term use, and it interpreted our gestures accurately. We especially like how the IntelliPoint software makes it easier to multitask than the Windows 7 OS does by default. Overall, the Touch Mouse is a great peripheral for laptops and desktops running Windows 7.
Read the full review →We like the Microsoft Touch Mouse for its thoughtful, complementary gestures that simplify the experience of moving in and around Windows 7 applications.
Read the full review →We wanted to love the Touch Mouse, but something stopped us. The button press system just doesn't work that well... The touch gestures are clever, but until you get used to them require extra thought, something which a lot of people won't want to fuss about with.
Read the full review →It's horrible to use, and prone to randomness. Microsoft is responsible for some of the most important mice in history of PCs. This, unfortunately enough, really isn't one of them.
Read the full review →Everything the Apple Magic Mouse failed to be; it offers the best of both a mouse and touchpad with almost none of the negatives of either. If you can live with its slight learning curve and slippery body, it will make your Office-Fu more effective.
Read the full review →I have been wanting this mouse since it was first announced. Finally Microsoft has created a great looking mouse that eliminated the scroll wheel. The industrial design is great. It can fit large or small hands comfortably and is definitely suitable for long periods of use without pain. The matte...
Read the full review →The Microsoft Touch Mouse has a lot going for it, if you're willing to take the time to learn to use its gesture-based system — and if you're comfortable using it. That could be a tall order for some people, since it's a very different user experience than working with a mouse, or even with a...

Read the full review →In theory - the best mouse can be! Some features are very cool and even useful. I'm using it for about one week and honestly can't tell that I'm happy with it. The first thought is that you can get used to it, but before that mouse I used "Magic Mouse" from Apple and can definitely say that you...
Read the full review →This mouse is everything I hoped it would be; responsive, comfortable and mostly effortless to use. Perfectly integrated into Windows and all of the gestures are geniunely useful, particularly for window management with Aero Snap to dock windows on the side or maximize/minimize in one step. The...
Read the full review →I was initially concerned about the touch accuracy based on Amazon reviews, but don't be fooled: the mouse is smooth. Scrolling responds instantly and does smooth, pixel-by-pixel movement. The gestures are easy to remember and really accurate. I've done a few I didnt mean to, but those times are...

Inadditional to the functional gesture, it still retain the precision of traditional mouse. That is Functional magic,...
Read the full review →Great mouse. I like the default touch motions so much that I find myself trying use them on laptops all the time. I love this mouse.
Read the full review →This is a very nice concept for a mouse, but could use some improvement. I think the hardware is there, but the software definitely needs updating. I'm really hoping with Windows 8, Microsoft releases an update to support Windows 8 gestures as well as custom gestures.
Read the full review →It could be a very good mouse but I prefer real buttons which has higher accuracy. The design is great but the comfort is a bit lacking.
Read the full review →I am using this on 2 23 inch screens on Windows 7 and it is like magic. Mostly if you multi task multiple windows. On Windows 8 it will need a driver update for Metro.
