The keyboard works great, but I keep wearing off the lettering on the keys. This is my 3rd one and the same thing happens on all of them.

I like this keyboard. And I fixed it after water damage.
I have used one of these (Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - german version) for a couple of years and have been pretty happy with it. I was a bit dismayed therefore, when I had some water splash on it the other day and it stopped working soon after. But I fixed it (see below). First, a few things about this keyboard (Ergonomic 4000) that I don't care for: - The special & favorites keys aren't quite as customizable as one could like with e.g. the Favorite 1-5 keys being...

I have two of these. Both had some minor issues with the spacebar. I think the longer you use it and break it in, the better the spacebar gets.
Though it might also be that I've been accustomed to hammering down the spacebar on this particular keyboard. Other than that, one of the best keyboards I've ever used. I've been a fan of Microsoft's ergonomic keyboards since the mid-90s. They haven't messed up yet...

Love this keyboard, just wish they'd make one with the Mac keys instead of Windows keys. Yeah I know, it's Microsoft...

I almost bought one... looking for alternatives
I almost bought this keyboard until I saw it on the shelf at Best Buy. This keyboard is far too large to fit on my desk. I need something a bit smaller.

Squeaky Spacebar
I just got this keyboard for Christmas and the spacebar squeaks about 60% of the time. Has anyone else seen this?

Regardless, I'm always keeping an eye out for other ergonomic keyboards. Anything you would recommend? Or do you think the 4000 is still the way to go? Some ergo keyboard I've tried and not been...

Poor spacebar
Had three of these over the years. Two were great, but most recently got one with a terrible spacebar. It flexes and rubs before it snaps down, requiring lots of pressure and then a violent slamming to the depressed postion. Anyone else have this issue?
