Can i use Zune service on Kin Onem?
details
Last week i have ordered a Kin Onem. I have bought it for using on Wi-Fi network or for Zune service like a Zune player. As you know it is a CDMA phone. So it is not supported in my country, therefore i won't be using it as phone. However i don't clearly know but i hope i will use it with my Zune account and Zune software any ideas? Additionally, i read many forums saying that i have to activate the phone from Verizone web site. Do i have to activate or unlock it to be able to use on Wi-Fi...

Closed platform? Open platform?
details
I'm interested to see what the overall feeling is in 2012 in regards to this. I have been a simultaneous Android and Blackberry/WP7 user over the years and I always prided myself in my Android loyalty and scoffed at those who claimed the open-ness of Google's OS hampered the overall user experience. Last month I received my first iPhone and I think I'm starting to pull a 180. I believe at this point, especially after experiencing iOS firsthand, Google should really consider pulling in the reigns... Read more →

What's Your Favorite SMB laptop?
details
I'm looking into the top 10 SMB laptops, particularly those that balance mobility, performance, security and battery life. Features might include 12- to 17-inch display, fast processor, lots of storage, variety of connectivity options and built-in webcam. Though price is considered, I'm more interested in features, functionality and durability. What's your take?

What phone to have Outlook sync without data plan?
details
My dad needs a new phone. He likes the ability of todays smartphones to be synced all the time but does not want to pay for a data plan. So I'm looking for a solution for him to sync his phone with the computer via USB and have a decent experience to check adresses and calendar on the phone. Email is not important to him as he is stationary on the computer for work. He is not the chatty type of person ;)
I don't think the iPhone is the right thing for him as he does not want iTunes on his... Read more →

Did your copy of Halo: Reach stop working?
details
My brother recently complained that he received an email from Microsoft informing him that his copy of Halo: Reach would stop working on September 21, and that as consolation, he would receive a code to download a free Games on Demand copy.
Though he didn't say, it's most likely that he has one of the special free discs they gave out to some users to test a recent security update. The update issued on the 21st for Halo: Reach now makes it impossible for those users to get online with the disc.... Read more →

Exporting Outlook Express in a desktop into Windows Live Mail in a laptop?
details
My wife desperately needed a new computer to replace her 6 year-old desktop so, of course, I bought myself a new laptop and I'm giving her my old one. But try as I might, I cannot convince her to stop using Outlook Express. Of course, the laptop, which is running Win 7, does not even have Outlook Express so I at least convinced her that Windows Live Mail was the next best thing. Now, I need to figure out how to take the OE data in the desktop and bring it to Windows Live Mail in the laptop so...

Tips for using OSX as my main workstation in a Windows domain environment.
details
We got a few OSX devices at work and as part of the process I want to use one as my main workstation for a couple weeks to really test the thing out. Luckily a lot of the services we use are web based and since I use Chrome on both platforms I know I'm ok. I will have to do a lot via RDP sessions to different servers. Should I just my VMWare View desktop for Windows related things or use VirtualBox/Fusion? I currently use two monitors at work can I get away with one due to Misson... Read more →

Using ActiveSync 2003 on OSX Lion
details
I'm trying to set up my work email in Mail on OSX Lion but I keep getting ActiveSync errors. Some brief searching reviled that Lion is only supporting Exchange 2007 or later now for the Mail application and even for Outlook/Entourage. Has anyone had any success with setting up Exchange 2003 ActiveSync on Lion?

New windows phone specs are not impressive - why is that?
details
The specs on these devices are more in-line with products released in 2010. Considering that most new flagship Android phones are dual-core and have 1 GB of RAM, and that the iPhone 5 is likely to be on par with that, it's hard for me to get too excited about these new Windows Phone devices - they seem out of date before they've even arrived. I suppose it's debatable if one truly needs 1GB of RAM on a mobile phone...though I feel that having more is better; I doubt that future versions of any of...

What are you excited for (and not excited for) in Windows 8?
details
Microsoft already showed off a lot of Windows 8 at CES earlier this year, but Microsoft says we'll be seeing a lot more of it at their BUILD conference in roughly 3 weeks. This got me thinking.. What are you excited for (and possibly not excited for) in Windows 8? Personally, I REALLY want to try out the new UI layer that 8 is showing off. It might be kind of weird to use on desktops and/or laptops, but it looks like it'd be amazing to use on tablets. This means that we could see actual, solid... Read more →
