While the Logitech Z-5 fell short of the full-room sound Logitech advertises, it’s a solid set of speakers to leave on your desk for casual listening to tunes or online video clips.

We tried it in an ordinary room and it sounded quite good, which is surprising for a USB-powered pair of speakers. We’re not going to describe in text what it sounds like because it is a bit pointless. We liked it and we recommend that you try it, if you see it in a store somewhere.

While music fidelity is hit and miss, movies are more forgiving – a situation that's acceptable at this price.
