Subject line describes my problem. It's out of warranty, so Logitech won't replace it. Is this a user-fixable issue?

I love my vx nano.. but one thing I noticed was after a few months, the scroll wheel has lost almost all of it's tactile clicks while scrolling.. Yes, I know you can click it down to go into free-wheeling mode, that's not what I mean. When it's in normal scroll mode it is still very hard to judge scrolling as the clicks are so faint I can barely feel them. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I have two of these mice. Excellent all around. The receiver has died on my second one. Per the forums, this is an issue which is usually resolved by purchasing a replacement receiver.
