  • Ergonomics / comfort Despite being a small keyboard, it's very comfortable to type with but I wish that the home button wasnt on the number row since it makes the delete key smaller good
  • Tactility / button-feel It's a really thin keyboard so there's not much of a "push" to the keys but it still feels GREAT to type on. great!
  • Design and form factor The magnet gets weaker over time causing it slide up and down the side of the iPad which may scratch the screen. poor
  • Noise Since the keys are relatively shallow little noise is produced when typing. great!
  • Configurability This isn't a fault of the keyboard since the iPad was pretty much designed for finger input only but I still wish that I can alt+tab between apps though. so-so
  • Portability When snapped on as a cover it roughly doubles the thickness of the iPad which is very very thin to begin with! great!
Detailed review
UPDATE: I can no longer recommend this product since the keyboard scratched the screen of the iPad. The space where the iPad would dock made a mark on the screen and you can see clearly where it is on the screen. I'm pretty sure that the cause of this problem is the magnet getting weaker which begins to slide up and down the side of the iPad which scratched the screen.

I contacted Logitech about this and they said that mine is defective and that they're sending me another one. Unfortunately, even though though their product caused damaged to the iPad, they're not going to help pay for repairs or replace the iPad.

I had this keyboard preordered on Amazon but it was going to take 1-3 months for it to come. I couldn't wait any longer so I went to my local Best Buy to get this keyboard.

This is the best portable keyboard I've ever used. It's just as good as the netbook keyboards back when I had the Eee PCs a couple years ago. The battery life is great (6 months per charge) and the keyboard looks pretty good as well.

The only gripe I have with the keyboard is the fact that the home button is on the same row as the numbers. With the home button there, it makes the delete key smaller making me accidentally press the + key sometimes and I'll sometimes accidentally press the home button when I meant to press the 1 key.

Despite that design flaw, the keyboard totally changes how i interact with the iPad. I chat much more on it now and I got a word processing app and it feels a lot more useful. In fact, I'm typing this review using the this keyboard.

It's $99.99, yes it's expensive, but for the form factor and battery life, I think it's a great buy.

I've been happy with the keyboard but I've experienced the same issue with the magnet being weak and scratching on the side of my iPad. When comparing the magnetic strength to that of the Apple Smart Cover, the one on the Logitech is much weaker. I recently noticed that a small area on the side of my iPad where the magnetic hinge touches is now significantly scratched. After further examination, there is a slight flaw in the magnetic area of the hinge giving it a rough feel in one small area. I also noticed that the paint on the magnetic hinge is wearing away causing marks on the iPad. The marks can be cleaned off though. I've compared the design of the hinge on the Logitech to the hinge on the Apple Smart Cover and it looks like Apple probably experienced the scratching issue when testing. The Logitech has a plastic hinge and the Apple Smart Cover is metal. For the Apple Smart Cover the magnetic area that touches iPad is not metal but a rubber like material, to prevent scratching if the cover slides at all.

Ya, I think Logitech could've definitely designed the cover a lot better by using a metal hinge. Also, as an update, Logitech sent me a replacement keyboard that's dented. sigh...
