Detailed review
I got a bit ahead of myself and decided to use the web client that's available to configure my device. What a mistake! Use the desktop client and it's plain sailing from the start. Being able to add any type of device you can think off, reconfiguring buttons, adding sequences for one button operation. Brilliant. I wish the buttons at the top weren't printed with labels on them, as I can imagine someone picking it up and pressing 'Listen to music', waiting for the radio to come on or something, but nothing happening. If they had been generically labelled, or not labelled, that may have been better, but I suspect that may also be a personal preference.
Device support is immense. It's a shame the PS3 doesn't have an IR port, but in all honesty, if I'm using my PS3, I'll be picking up the remote to play games anyway. For the few times I'm watching something using an app or playing a Blu-ray, I can make do with the Blu-ray remote or PS3 controller.
I've removed my comment regarding ergonomics, although the rating remains the same. The reason I've removed the comment is having now used the Harmony One remote, which has much larger buttons, the 700 feels more comfortable in my hand. It's still a big device and you have to shift it up and down a lot if you are performing a range of tasks, but it's by no means uncomfortable.
Highly recommend the device and although every review, article and specification for the device says it can handle 5 or 6 devices, the packaging says 8 which is an added bonus!
