The 1100 definitely has the look and feel of a solid piece of kit; one of those devices you want to pick up and turn over in your hand just for the sake of feeling it... But, when it comes to the actual business of controlling your devices, it's no better than the...500-series remotes...

The Logitech Harmony 1100 is an excellent touch-screen universal remote that corrects most of the shortcomings and frustrations of its predecessor, but its high price will relegate it to high-end home theaters only.

With a price tag one penny shy of 500 clams (you can buy it online for less), there’s no denying that Logitech’s Harmony 1100 Universal Remote is pricey, until you compare it with touch-screen remote controls from companies such as Crestron and AMX, which cost several times more.

I want to like this remote. I really do. But I can't say that I'm entirely happy with it. First, the device support is outstanding. There doesn't seem to be literally anything it can't support, up to and including the random 10 year old VCR I still have hooked up to my entertainment system for...
