I find that the one thing I don't like about my G5 is how firm the center wheel is when I need to push it. As a result, my pushes often end up also scrolling, or tilting, as well. Is this how the G5 generally is, or does it vary from mouse to mouse? With other mice I've used, it is very easy to middle-click with the mouse wheel. Of course, it can't bother me too much since I've been using the mouse for a few years.

Cleaning
I have the G5 shown in the picture, with the blue textured finish and I'd like to give it a clean. It's not looking particularly dirty or anything - the surface finish hides this. But I've had it a while and my hands are a bit sweaty when using it sometimes so I feel its probably fairly dirty. Anyone ever cleaned theirs? Any tips?

Upgrading from the G5?
A lot of people were discussing upgrades, so I figured I'd make a topic out of it. The G5 has been around for ages in both its forms, and while I've been a big fan, and many others are, it might be ready for an upgrade. So thoughts?

How long has your G5 lasted?
Its the 4th year of me abusing my G5. I've had this guy since my Freshman year in college and well its been put through some serious use. And now finally, its dying on me. The cord is fraying, the laser receptor is getting a little wobbly. And I probably haven't changed the weights in it for 2 years (ever since I found the best combo).
