The main advantage to this router is the third party firmware you can put on it. With that done, you can do anything with this router. Some example uses: VPN Server Quality of Service implementation Wireless Access Point with a portal for coffee shops Private network, guest network etc...

Perhaps the most stable consumer router so far. Maybe not such a likely candidate for purchase these days as people move into gigabit ethernet and higher speed wireless. For people stuck on around 10mbit internet connections still router is still fantastic though.
