If you need to add 802.11n wireless to an existing home network, the E3000 is up to the job. But you may find the promised high performance eludes this unit, despite its positioning as a high-end device. We didn’t see three-figure megabit-per-second speeds, let alone 300Mbps. quote

All in all, you're getting a solid chunk of router for the money, since you're bound to find it cheaper than the $180 official price. It's no photo-frame/NAS/BitTorrenter like D-Link's greatest, but the E3000 has a few more router-y things it doesn't, like solid simultaneous dual-band....

If you're looking for a high-end consumer or small-business router, Cisco's E3000 is a great choice. But if you are looking for a top-of-the line NAS, the E3000's is average at best. The E3000 tries to be both things, and its NAS abilities drag it down to just shy of greatness.

The Linksys E3000 is the first advanced router that's also easy to use for novices. It provides great wireless performance and has a good set of useful networking features. Its mediocre NAS performance and limited guest networking feature make it significantly less than perfect, however.

Cisco Connect remains the easiest tool we’ve ever used to establish a connection to a router, but Cisco’s “fix” for a problem we described in our initial review has rendered the router a whole lot less appealing.

I upgraded from a Netgear WNDR3700 to the E3000 due solely to Negear's atrocious 5GHz coverage. With the Netgear, I was lucky to get 2 bars of 5GHz in my living room. The Linksys gives me a full 5 bars. Note that I use wifi routers as access points (routing is done by a linux PC), so...

Note: the review is based on my usage of a custom firmware (Tomato: http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato) The only glitch I experienced is that the router seems to freeze every once in a while (let's say once a month). This may be related to the fact that it gets very very hot. Keeping it raised...

I bought this router to try to stream 1080p high bitrate videos and for file transfering using wireless-N. The good thing about this router is that it is one of the few routers in the market that you can set the 2.4GHz channel bandwidth from 20MHz to 40MHz - which prevents wireless-G and lower...

Coming from a long line of Linksys routers, I was very impressed about the E3000, I came from a WRT54G and immediately seen the difference in speeds as soon as I hooked it up. The wireless N combined with the many features of the routers software makes for a perfect combination

The router has been good to me and features wireless-n which works well. It also has gigabit ports so you know your data is going to transfer fast and keep up. It has great range in a large house and works well with the dual bands of wireless-n.
