Conclusion: We're mixed

The Optimus L9 is a midpriced phone for T-Mobile customers, with a decent 4.3-inch display, and a fairly basic 5-megapixel camera. It lacks access to the higher-speed portion of T-Mobile's 4G HSPA data network. At $79 with a two-year contract, it's one of the more affordable options available on T-Mobile, but if you can spend a little more, you're likely to find a better option.

The Optimus L9 isn't totally without merit. We appreciate its boxy yet dapper design and its sharp, colorful display. ... Yet, its mediocre camera reminds us of its entry-level status, the carrier's bloatware is a disappointment and LG's UI 3.0 belongs in the past.

For less than $100, the LG Optimus L9 gets you a great mix of features and performance. T-Mobile offers cheaper phones, like the myTouch series or the Samsung Exhibit II 4G , but none of them can match the L9 on performance or quality.

The reasonable $80 price tag, dual-core processor, and Android 4.0, make the LG Optimus L9 a reliable midlevel handset for T-Mobile users.

What can I say? For a budget handset, the LG Optimus L9 impresses. In no way is the phone the best, but its sleek design, nice screen, and the fact that it runs so smooth with have you thinking otherwise.

For $79 on contract, the L9 offers a lot of usable features all while helping keep some change in your pocket rather than T-Mobile's.

The LG Optimus L9 brings a great budget option to T-Mobile’s lineup. It is of course not as good as the forthcoming Nexus 4, but it absolutely holds its own with similar offerings from HTC and Samsung.

I'm really loving this phone and I can't believe it's only $200 (off-contract). I haven't had my hands on any of the newest "top of the line" phones, but coming from a <2 year-old HTC Evo this phone is much faster, more responsive and stable. I haven't had a single crash or hang up and it runs...
