In all, it looks to be the same solid handset we spent some quality time with two months back. As a potential competitor to Samsung's Note II, it easily rises above in specs, in build quality and in subsidized pricing ($200 on a two-year contract).

Lastly, as a phablet, the Optimus G Pro lacks the stylus that made the Note 2 a unique device. Sure it has LG's memo apps, but the missing stylus is felt when you're actually trying to write or draw something.

The LG Optimus G Pro is best described as a minor upgrade to the Optimus G, offering a much larger screen with a higher resolution and a bigger capacity battery.

The Snapdragon 600 chipset boosts the overall experience even further and the Optimus G Pro is certainly a benchmark champion. And the beautiful and lively 5.5-inch 1080p screen is great for both productivity and media consumption.

This is a highly promising super-phone with strong styling and decent feel. The display is bright and attractive and the fast chip is unsurprisingly up to the job of making the handset speedy and responsive.

While we're not fans of the phablet, there were moments during our demo where we understood the appeal. That huge screen is awesome for entertainment, the battery is massive and there's plenty of room for peppy hardware.
