  • Reception and call quality Constantly switching between 4G, 2G, and X (no reception). If my phone loses reception when my wife's galaxy s has no problems, I start to wonder. so-so
  • Display A nice vibrant screen, but still no Super AMOLED display (Galaxy S) or Super AMOLDED+ (Galaxy S II). good
  • Battery life Just about on par with any other Android device out there, but on 4G, can drain it a little faster. good
  • Camera No comments
  • Ease of use No comments great!
  • Design and form factor Feels like a wonderfully solid device. Unlike the Galaxy S, which felt cheap, this feels very sturdy. great!
  • Portability (size / weight) It may look a little bulky, but the beveled edges allow it to slip right into my pocket. great!
  • Media support Plays all of the stuff I need it to. good
  • Durability Again, this phone feels really well designed, and solidly built. great!
  • Ecosystem (apps, accessories, etc.) Android Market. Once you know how to get through the cruft of the market, you can find some really great stuff. great!
Detailed review
I would have to say that I am overall, pretty pleased with this phone. It is fast and responsive to my touches and gestures. My only problem with the device is the inexplicable reception problems. If they can seem to push out an update to the phone that would fix this problem, I would be very please with it. Looking through the forums on T-Mobile about this device, you will discover many other people that are having a wide variety of issues, and no one seems to be having exactly the same set of issues. This seems makes me wonder if there wasn't some sort of combination of software problems, and manufacturing issues.

Unfortunately neither T-Mobile or LG seem to be issuing any statement about these issues, other than T-Mobile stating that there is a supply shortage. Now, this supply shortage has been lasting about 2 months, so I am starting to think that maybe they aren't having a supply issue, but rather LG is having some difficulty providing a fix for these issues, and T-Mobile was trying to stall.

Whatever the case, I hope that one of them finally fixes them, either by providing an update or by providing a different phone.
