It's seriously, refreshingly good. It's the sort of device we'd award an editor's choice... if Engadget did such things. Though the tablet was designed for business users, we'd go a step further and recommend it to anyone who's been looking for a Windows 8 tablet with great battery life.

Conclusion: We like it
Windows 8 tablets with detachable keyboards are hitting the market at all price points, from the sub-$500 Asus VivoTab Smart to Microsoft's $899 Surface with Windows 8 Pro. Right in the middle of that range is the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, which, like the VivoTab, runs on a low-powered Atom processor. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 is, according to Laptop Mag, "the most attractive and portable business tablet around," thanks to its all-day battery life, good stylus input and Lenovo's "excellent physical keyboard." Engadget calls it "the best low-powered Windows 8 tablet we've tested," and says that, despite its Atom processor, "it handles the overhead of Windows 8 just fine" (though it's not the best choice for streaming media, gaming, or image editing). Starting at about $650 without a keyboard, the Tablet 2 is more expensive than budget offerings like the VivoTab. But, even with a keyboard, it costs less than the Surface Pro, and, compared with cheaper alternatives, Engadget suggests paying the premium: "you'll be rewarded with a more pleasant experience in the long run."

With its all-day battery life, light weight, accurate stylus and optional comfy keyboard, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a truly compelling productivity companion.
Read the full review →This Windows 8 tablet from Lenovo scores with great industrial design and battery life, but adding practically required accessories makes the ThinkPad Tablet 2 very expensive for what you get.
Read the full review →We have our concerns about the keyboard stand ... but the tablet itself comes pretty close to delivering a good touch experience and a good desktop experience, at least for business users with no interest in gaming.
Read the full review →It's a simple work-based tablet that has a good set of ThinkPad accessories that make it a good fit if you're transitioning ThinkPad users to something a lot more portable.
Read the full review →Incredibly light and portable. Touchscreen tracks well. Cheapest Atom-based slate on the market. Record battery life. Useless USB port. Charging is incredibly slow, and accomplished via an incredibly small cable. Small, stiff Windows button. Somewhat dim screen.
Read the full review →For those comfortable with Windows 8 who needs the full PC experience without compromise, yet still in a sleek and lightweight portable option the Tablet 2 should be near the top of the list.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is fantastic device when used as a casual tablet or business PC for a mobile sales force. The machine looks great, it's light and easy to hold, and the battery lasts all day.
Read the full review →The unusual AIO form factor wont be to everyone's taste, but it remains a reasonable choice for users requiring a proper Windows 8 tablet.
Read the full review →Sure, it’s well-made, has a decent screen and a useful stylus, but the performance is frustrating and most would be better off with a laptop if productivity was the main reason for purchase, even if they are much bigger and heavier.
Read the full review →It's the best tablet keyboard I've ever used, and the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is one of the best Atom-powered Windows slates you can buy. If you know that's what you want, get the ThinkPad Tablet 2.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a huge step up from its Android-based predecessor, and the stylus works great, but its use is hampered by a weak processor and Windows 8’s inability to scale to a tablet-sized screen.
Read the full review →The build quality is good, better than I expected and the design isn't too bad either. but it's no head-turner, so don't expect people to say ... "Wow, what tablet are you using?" It has all the bells and whistles for a business user. The only thing is ... price.
Read the full review →At $949, the ThinkPad Tablet is a decent Windows Pro machine- though whether you want to use Windows 8 in a tablet form factor is something you need to decide.

The tablet’s responsiveness was smooth in our fleeting time with the Metro interface, far better than previous Windows 7 tablet experiences. Multitouch gestures seemed much more responsive than during an earlier session with the ThinkPad Tablet 2 earlier this year.

Read the full preview →Lenovo has been making tablets as long as any company and brought all that experience together for the ThinkPad Tablet 2. The first impressions show Lenovo got it mostly right.
Read the full preview →As a mobile device the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 feels great to use. That said, the way the device connects to the keyboard is less appealing than with other units.
Read the full preview →For a tablet, we have to admit, we’re digging the slim size it’s packing along for the ride – while also admiring the subtle ThinkPad design DNA it’s boasting too.
Read the full preview →The tablet has a sturdy plastic case that’s easy to hold. It’s also pretty light, at 1.3 pounds. There’s a slot in one corner of the tablet where you can tuck the digital pen when you’re not using it. This isn’t just a plastic stylus… it’s a plastic “pen” with some digital guts.

Read the full preview →I love it. The Win 8 on a tablet is the perfect mix. When I need to do work I am in the desktop connected to my monitor and Bluetooth keyboard. When I am relaxing in front of my TV i use Smartglass with my XBOX or when I am having breakfast I am in the Metro mode. It works flawlessly. The pen...
