  • Speed and features At 2.4Ghz it ran Ubuntu 11.10 nice and smooth. good
  • Design and form factor Lenovo/IBM design systems have always been good. Even in the smaller form factor. great!
  • Battery life My used laptop batter ran around 2 hours of productive work. I'd assume a fresh battery would do better. so-so
  • Display Simple touch was nice but I have been spoiled by apple products and decided I could not work with this screen's poor viewing angles and color reproduction. poor
  • Durability Other than the common left side palm rest crack it was solid. so-so
  • Expandability Ultrabay 3 cell batter is a nice option. As well as the space saver module. so-so
  • Noise Super quiet even when cranking on images. great!
  • Portability (size / weight) My only worry is the location of the power plug. Just inboard enough to forget about when moving around. I found I would rest it on the connection by accident. good
Detailed review
This was my fist Lenovo / IBM laptop and I was impressed. I ran Ubuntu 11.10 and had no installation issues. Everything worked 'out of the box' including the Simple Touch screen. Battery life was fine (around 2 hours on a used battery) and keyboard, trackpad usability was as good as the reviews say. My only issue was the screen color and viewing angle (LCD backlight model). While just fine for business tasks I found the screen became a problem when viewing video and image editing. This sadly was the deal breaker and I've since sold it on. Overall its a great laptop and I'd pick one up again in an instant for work.
