The IdeaTab Lynx has a bright IPS screen, but it's ultimately not Lenovo's best Windows 8 hybrid.

The Lynx is a tablet from Lenovo that can be combined with an optional keyboard to give you a laptop-like experience if that's what you're looking for. CNET wasn't impressed with the hybrid attempt, stating it "doesn't stack up to even inexpensive ultrabooks in terms of hands-on utility and usability" and that when attempting to disconnect the tablet from the keyboard, "the two parts didn't come apart cleanly and required some awkward tugging." The Lynx features a 1366x768 resolution LCD panel, which is standard for low-end Windows tablets, that Laptop Magazine says " offered deep colors and sharp text." When it comes to performance, the Lynx won't win any awards, but CNET says it's "surprisingly good for everyday use." Engadget says "you'll have no trouble playing very casual games." At the end of the day the Lynx does nothing to really separate itself from the rest of the low-end hybrid pack. Coming in under $500, it's not a bad choice for an Internet-only device, but if you're looking to do extra work on it with the keyboard dock, that price gets a little higher.
