In a world of lightweight Ultrabooks and high-end gaming laptops, is there room for an affordable desktop replacement? Lenovo seems to think so, and for the most part, the IdeaPad Y580 delivers the goods. Its 15-inch, 1920x1080 display works well for gaming, productivity, and as a complement its Blu-ray drive for HD video playback. At over 6 pounds, this isn't a laptop you'll be carrying around much (or using on your lap), but for mainstream media, productivity and gaming purposes, it's worth carrying from room to room.
