At...$1,095 and up, the IdeaPad U300s isn't the best value, but it is one of the better Ultrabooks we've seen. People comparing this side-by-side against other skinny laptops will note that it doesn't have a high-res display, backlit keyboard or memory card slot.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U300S is sleek, light — and mostly average. Compared to other ultrabooks in its price range — and even some less expensive models — it's missing a few tricks, such as a backlit keyboard, SD card slot and Ethernet, all of which are available on the lower-priced HP Folio 13. In the U300S's favor: one of the best trackpads available on an ultrabook, a comfortable keyboard and built-in support for Intel Wireless Display, or WiDi, which allows you to wirelessly stream video or other content from your laptop to a compatible TV or other display. Those features may make it worth considering, if you don't need to connect it to a wired network, or type in the dark.

Read the full review →The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s gets many things right, but not enough to beat the 13-inch MacBook Air. While it may not be as flashy, we like this Ultrabook's solid aluminum design, excellent performance, and nearly 7 hours of battery life.
Read the full review →The Lenovo U300s is a great Ultrabook that while lacking an SD card slot and backlit keyboard makes up for it with sturdy built quality, fast speeds, HDMI out, a water resistant keyboard, LoJack and more.
