The Lenovo IdeaCentre Q180 nettop is compact and inexpensive. It has a lot of features and a good price, though this configuration could use a bit of tweaking to really shine.

The IdeaCentre Q180 is small, light, and underpowered, according to Digital Trends: "The hardware is barely adequate for modern computing. Tasks that are simple on other computers, such as playing back HD YouTube clips, are too much for this system to handle." That shouldn't be surprising, given its low cost and low-powered Atom processor, and PC World does say that, although it's "a mediocre performer," its "size, portability, and couch-friendly multimedia remote make it a good contender for media mavens on a budget."

This PC is meant to handle productivity-oriented tasks and play back video. It does a respectable job of both. It even muscled through the Blu-ray videos we threw at it. Our only real reservation comes from its hesitation playing back 1080p content on YouTube.

Read the full review →I use it as HTPC and it is great. Small, great design, quiet, plays 1080p. I recommend using it with windows, Ati linux drivers and linux flash are bad, gpu acceleration doesn't work (for now), and atom itself isn't fast enough to play hd movies. Cons: All (2) USB 3.0 ports and audio out/mic...
