I've been using mine as a back-up for about two years now and I'm wondering how soon I should consider replacing it. The drive seems to be in good health for the moment, but I'd rather replace it when I want to, not when I have to.

Spin down, spin up all day long on my iMac OS X 10.6.1
My new 1Tb drive is plugged into my new iMac strictly for Time Machine backup duty. I have the power saving setting 'spin down hard drives when possible' turned on. Throughout the day when the iMac is on, this drive can be heard spinning up and down constantly. Is that OK for the drive? Or should I change the setting to not allow it to spin down?
