Quite frankly, I'm surprised if you have one of these that's still running. The most likely part to fail on these and most other LaCie drives of the past few years has to be the power adapter. (Typically for most other drives it's the disk mechanism.) I bought mine in 2005 and the first power adapter lasted 4 years. The second power adapter lasted 2 years.
