It's been a perfect fit for the shows we do. Low-light hasn't been a problem, and framerates are superb! The battery life is a bit short, but a second battery and charger have covered that problem.
I'm going to buy a Kodak Zi8 (on sale right now at Kodak for $129 http://bit.ly/bYtwqI. Was looking at Class 6 16 GB card for it, and saw this Memorex 16 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card 32020015833 http://amzn.to/cCy2Ui at Amazon (through buy.com). I'm trying to buy a Zi8 and it's out of stock at Amazon, Crutchfield, Target, and a few others. Is there any talk on a new camera release (Zi10?)? I know the Zi8 is almost a year old so I would assume it's life cycle is ending. Any info?

I received a Zi8 for Christmas this year (yay!), and I'm looking forward to recording some movies with good quality audio. Can anyone recommend a good external mic or an overall audio set up for this?
I know the specs are better, and it was anticipated to top the Ultra HD, but did it deliver? In 1080p mode, without using a tripod, there is a jitter in the lower portion of the frame. The internal mic is supposed to be better on the Ultra HD. In 720p mode, there are vertical lines all over the image. Video quality is not supposed to be better than the Ultra HD, and low-light is apparently worse. Image stabilization is reported not to have any noticeable effect. The digital zoom really degrades...

I REALLY want to buy this but I have read a lot of issues with vertical lines (like on Youtube). Is this still an issue? Does anyone who own it not have this problem? Thanks.
Is anyone else noticing that these are 100% out of stock on amazon.com and that Kodak's own site suggests no stores online or locally to purchase one? I'm kinda baffled and starting to question whether or not these things even exist. I notice that 7 gdgt users CLAIM to have one, but its feeling more and more like a conspiracy! Maybe a response from one of them and some thoughts on where to buy one would be appreciated.
I am interested in this camera, and I would really like to be able to shoot video in the ocean while I was surfing. Does anyone know if there will be a waterproof housing available for this camera? I couldn't find one on the Kodak website, but if there was a 3rd party case that would be fine too.

Everyone Did you get a change to see the new ZI8. I can see that the technical specs are much higher than the Flip Mino HD. I love the SD slot and the HDMI. Has anyone had any early hands on with it? CNET claim it is better than the Flip. I am planning to buy one of them. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
