Good Points – Nice design, Good Weight, Wide Angle Lens, Very Clear Image, Plenty of Different Settings, Easy to upload to various social media sites, tripod mount. Bad Points – Zoom is a bit jerky, Fixed Lens, No Macro , Still Pics are grainy indoors.

The software is eh, but if you know anything about video editing you probably have a way to convert the files into a more manageable format than .mov The Flip UltraHD is soo much bigger and you have to buy a special case to take it underwater. I bought mine to shoot funny videos and take snorkeling videos on my honeymoon and it works great for both. A word of advice is to try to shoot video for at least 30 seconds when you are shooting because the most trouble I have had with this is with really...

I bought this from amazon.ca and was surprised to see that I could buy a spare battery for 95 cents, I bought two of them. This will not ship until April 15th.
Just got a notice saying that Amazon.com has them early, it's no longer being released in April but on March 9th now. I had to cancel my order since I wasn't ready to pay for it yet (have my vacation budgeted out this month for the end of next month, when I'll need this thing) but yah... shipping on March 9th now. Page has it listed as "In Stock on March 9th"....
Has anyone caught any word as to whether or not the macro switch has been excluded from this model? As best I can tell from product tours and promo videos there's no physical switch.
I haven't read any specific comments regarding battery removal. Will the fact that it is waterproof make it sealed and non-removable? The Playsport sounds like a slightly more compact but rugged zi8. In a way I am thankful I was not able to get a zi8 since it has been sold out everywhere. Let's see those zi8 vs. Playsport comparisons.
