The Kobo is fantastic. However, don't bother with the Kobo Desktop Application, or the Borders App.

The best way to manage your library is http://calibre-ebook.com/ it's free and works with Windows, Mac & Linux. The best feature of calibre though is as a conversion tool. It can convert PDFs and all formats of eBooks into the correct format for your device and load them onto the device. Brilliant!

Great reading experience: simple to use, very light, good feel and touch with the rubber back, and text is very visible.

I had the chance to use the support for a problem on the eReader and they responded fast with the right solution. Limitations are that sync of bookmarks with Kobo on other platform is not working well. Sync with BlackBerry is not well design... hence, I'm a bit disappointed that I have to keep my own bookmarks when I need to read books on multiple devices (I do it a lot as I read my Kobo books on my iPhone when I'm on the go).

For $149, this may be the first ebook reader that makes me take the plunge.

Sure, Amazon's Kindle is nice, or the Barnes & Noble Nook has that cool touch screen thingy - but this Kobo eReader is simple and functional. Do I really need 3G in an ebook reader? I have an iPhone for that. I'd be perfectly content with a reader that simply displayed books. I may just have to grab one of these when it comes out at Chapters Indigo.
