We are having problems getting our calendars to sync. Data will be entered into the calendar and it is supposed to automatically sync to our other devices via icloud. So far, it is syncing the other information (address book, notes etc), just not the calendar. The Apple salseman thinks it has to do with a setting in our firewalls and says we will need to call the IT guys out here to adjust the firewalls. He says this will have to be done every time we add a new device. Is he just trying to get...

I've been using Jolicloud on various devices since it came out in 2009. Now I'm running v 1.1 on an Asus EEE pc 1001px.
This is not intended to be my primary computer, but I find myself using it more and more frequently. The clean interface, the 20-30 seconds from power to Internet, and the long battery life are all attractive features. Many apps are available and more added weekly.

Have Joliecloud 1.1 on my eeepc 900a. Not quite blazing, but much faster than than anything I've run on it except puppy linux.
It seems to be a nice, stable, user friendly os. The nicest part for me is the 4gb ssd would be maxed out quickly with every os except puppy and w/ JC 1.1 still over a gb left even after a few updates. It also maximizes the webpages so you get bigger than standard screens to work with if you use the "app" version.

Jolicloud is a fantastic lightweight OS for those of us unwilling to buy a copy of Windows 7.
XP was miserably slow on my netbook; Jolicloud is a solid replacement.

I just installed Jolicloud 1.
0 on my netbook and it's an improvement in the UI, but I still don't really see how this is leaps and bounds better than just Windows 7. It definitely got away from looking straight up like Ubuntu Netbook Remix. Now the launcher is made entirely in HTML5 and it looks pretty nice. They also switched all the apps so that they run in Chrome. I think this is a big improvement because Firefox has gotten way too slow and you could see that in the previous version of Jolicloud. Other than...

Try it out, but don't expect much
I really wanted to like Jolicloud, but it needs a lot more work before prime time. Here are a few reasons why I can't use this full time on my netbook: - "Applications" are not really applications. When I heard that this had an app directory, I thought it would have customized apps for the netbook form factor. Turns out when you "install" these apps, they just create links to webpages that open in their own window. I'd rather just open up a browser and just go to the...

Installing on the HP mini 311
In the midst of attempting to install Jolicloud on the HP mini 311. First few tries didn't work, anyone else have any issues? Going to try again, will let you know if it takes this time.

I have some Jolicloud invites...
Jolicloud OS is a layer on top of Ubuntu Netbook Remix. I really like the interface and it makes adding Applications (mostly just web app shortcuts) really seamless. I've had it on my wife's HP Mini 1000 for about 6 months and its a lot better (IMO) than Moblin or any of the other netbook specific OS's I've tried. Hit me with a DM on Twitter (@ledlow) with your info if you want an invitation to try Jolicloud. First come first get.
