also, sometimes GPU crashes and displays weird mouse rectangle when shutdown pressing power button for some seconds (cold start?). great laptop though!
The XT was the first computer I remember having (well, technically it was my family's computer). I remember playing all sorts of random games on this thing, and even learning to program in BASIC. Plus, that keyboard was epic. Based on this post I saw today about "How I met your Motherboard": http://news.gdgt.com/2010/04/29/httpandrewsullivan...
It was the PS/2 Model 30... I was pretty young and DOS was mysterious to me until a neighbor came over and gave me a couple of half-hour lessons. At first I thought I needed to "install" a game every single time before I could play it. Lots of Hoyle, followed by Police Quest, Space Quest, King's Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry, which at my age felt like I was getting away with reading a copy of Playboy. I remember this machine fondly, even though at that time I had wanted to get a...
have any of you put seven on her? wondering how it is going to like seven, wonder if lenovo will release a driver pack which will work well with the x41....
OK. This post is 75% curiosity, but 25% bragging rights. My working Model M (typing this post) was manufactured on "09NOV88" according to the sticker on the back. ID # 1516399. I am a little sad I missed it's twentieth birthday, but in just four months, my keyboard will be old enough to drink! Can you beat me? I suspect you may... How old is your Model M (working or not?)
That's right. I said it. The thing weighed 20 pounds and had such an authoritative sound when you typed something, as if to say, "*BOOM* THAT'S RIGHT. I JUST PRESSED A BUTTON. WHAT NOW?" Really, these things were built like a tank. And I loved everything about them
Lately, I am a little obsessed with finding a "clicky" style keyboard, Something that gives me good feedback (physical and audible) while typing. I never really knew what they were called but I guess they are called mechanical keyboards. Well since I didn't even know what they are called then I guess it's pretty obvious that I would not know which are the best ones. Anyone have any recommendations?
So I've got this ThinkPad X23 but I cannot get it to boot. It will get to the XP boot screen then flash a BSoD for a millisecond then crash out of that and start the cycle all over again. I tried to boot off of a USB drive and that would fail as well. Any thoughts?
