something as minor as physical button layouts are on Android handsets. I've seen almost as many different combinations of buttons as there are Android phones, and the funny thing is that manufacturers aren't even internally consistent with their layouts, it's like no one can settle on a preferred order. I know this isn't something that the average person would notice or maybe even care about -- they probably don't have six Android phones on their desk right now -- but it...

My family's AT&T contract was about to run out, so it's was about time for us to decide who we were going to go with.
AT&T's reception here in Alabama is TERRIBLE. After much comparing we narrowed the list down to Verizon, Cellular South, and T-Mobile. Well, when I saw the ad for the Father's day sale we settled on them. So we went and got a contract with them along with some new phones. My mom got a Samsung Galaxy 2 (think that's what it is. has a really nice little slide out keyboard), my little sister got a Sony Ericson Equinox (very nice little flip phone), my dad got a BB Bold 9700(?),...

Just got this phone today and holy cow does this thing fly. I am still not sold on the Sense UI but with GDE I will switch between the two.
The phone feels solid and the 3.4" screen is really really nice, not OLED quality but still very nice. The keyboard is also really really nice although after not using one in so long it will take me a while to get use to it, although it is already so much more useful then the on screen keyboard. The Genius button works very well, not sure if I will use it but could come in handy. The only problem I have seen is an initial error with contacts duplicating, I believe this is because Tmobile...

Fragmentation issues. Looking at these three phones in Chicago at the event was an interesting experience.
All of the phones have something different going for them. I'm not a huge fan of the myTouch Slide but my real question for HTC is this: Why fragment Sense on top of the Android fragmentation that is happening? I just don't get the appeal of having 2 phones using the Sense UI that just look nothing alike software-wise. I'm a fan of the stock UI and that's why I prefer the Nexus One but it seems like a no-brainer that if you're HTC, you want people to know that a phone is...

If this phone had more "power under the hood" it might be OK. As it is, its to underpowered and will LAG big time after some usage.

debating between Cliq Vs myTouch 3G
So I am currently at the end of my T-Mo contract and debating on the Moto Cliq Vs myTouch 3G. Also another possibility is switching to Sprint to get the HTC Hero. The big selling point for the Cliq does seem to be the keyboard, other than that I see no other major advantage. Blur just seems like Moto's take on Android, which doesn't seem as slick as HTC's Sense at first glance. The other 2 advantages over the myTouch is the 3.5mm jack, and the 5MP camera. As far as the rest of the...
