Detailed review
I've been looking a smart phones for awhile now. I was looking at the Iphone 3GS, but was reluctant as I hate itunes. I live in a windows environment and do all my email, calendar and contact management with Google. So an android phone is what drew my attention. Since buying the phone 3 weeks ago and using it. I love my HTC Legend, the ease of setup was amazing, just log into my google account and boom the phone was populated with all my contacts. As a newbie to the smart phone world I was nervous about going over on my data, but the widgets make turning off the data simple so I can make sure I only use data when I want. The HTC Sence UI is intutative, adding new widget and apps are simple. The selection of Apps is great, as an avid podcast listener I must shout out Google Listen, no need sync to a computer to have my podcast loaded.
The things that keep it from a 10 out of 10 is I find that the battery life can really take a hit if you have the data or GPS on. Not having experience with smart phones this could be a problem. I personally do not turn on the GPS or Data so I get a day out of the battery with only using voice and listening to music/podcasts. The other problem that is limited in scope but effects me is that there is a glitch that does not allow the phone to show the correct time in the Atlantic time zone, I'm not sure if this is a HTC or Android problem but it's really annoying to someone on the East Coast of Canada. I'm hoping the promised Fro-yo upgrade will resolve this issue.
Overall I give this phone high marks and have been recommending it to anyone who asks me what phone they should get.
