Detailed review
I don't care if society says it's wrong, I am in love with this phone. After a brief unimpressive experience with a Droid 2 Global, I was ready to call it quits with Android. Turns out it was Motoblur I couldn't stand and not Android.
Simple design with minimal buttons, and the onscreen rotating buttons have offered me aimless fun times. The feel is just about perfect for me. Being a man with the hands of a high school girl, this thing just about maxes out where I could move my thumbs on screen but never makes things difficult. Pocketability (?) is good and I am sure would even work in hipster jeans that all the kids are raving about.
The screen is awesome. Not just pretty good, but awesome. It may not have a fancy pants magical Retina display of the iPhone 4, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to tell that this is not a Steve Jobs creation. Closest comparison I own is an iPod Touch 4g. Staring at the same image at the same time on both devices, I can detect slight differences in the way colors are displayed, but that's about it. A major reason I chose this over any super dual core mega phone is that 4" seems perfect for me as far as size goes.
Battery life is OK, but my fear of the phone dying led me to purchase the HTC extended battery. Standard battery would get though most of the day before the phone would start to complain it was getting tired. With the extended battery, I can make it a full day without fear.
Call quality is good on my end as well as the lucky person speaking to me. Flipping the phone over and having it switch automatically to speaker is a nifty trick for work time conference calls.
Android is Android,with negatives and positives. The Sense skin on the phone actually seems to add some funcionality if wanted. I don't love it and I don't hate it, but I am happy it has not hindered my experience. I am also pleased that while I cannot remove most of the Verizon included apps they are easliy pushed to the side and forgotten.
I have one quirk with the phone where my photos and videos with randomly disappear until I restart the phone, but other than that this phone has been rock solid.
I have had no hitches,freezing or slowdown of any sort with this phone, even with it's seemingly outdated single core. Very impressed with the speed.
