Detailed review
This is the first device I've ever owned that feels like its more at home in a sci-fi movie than the present. The sheer amount of connectivity it brings to my everyday life continues to surprise me. Email, SMS, Phone calls, internet, twitter, you name it, is all seamlessly stitched together with HTC's proprietary (and beautiful) SenseUI built on top of the ever-improving, open-source Android OS. While the iPhone may be a consistent (read: bland) experience for each of its users, the Hero encourages you to tweak it to your heart's desire. Combined with an app market free of draconian approval processes this phone can be anything you want it to be. Now for the not so good stuff. The phone is underpowered. Android's tendency to keep apps open in the background causes the phone to slow down, sometimes dramatically. The screen is a magnet for fingerprints and the open standards and customization while one of its strongest selling points, also cause bugs and strange behavior. All things considered, the Hero is still one of the best phones that Sprint subsidizes here in the US and I would definitely recommend it to anyone on a Sprint plan.
