(1) Do you like the phone
Generally, yes. with qualifications.

(2) Is the touch screen response acceptable.
This is the first capacitive I've had and the only issues I've had have been when I was outside in the bitter cold. I am so used to the resistive of of the N97 (and Treos before that) that I fogot take my gloves off. Multi-touch in the Dolphin browser works fine.

Screen looks grrrrreat! You need to play with the auto-brightness to get it right for your situation. No good in direct sunlight, of course. N97 screen better in sunlight.

(3) Speed of applications
Fast fast. Certainly faster than N97 or N95

(4) Call quality
OK. Not as good as any of the Nokias I've had over the years. Slightly tinny. Does not matter if you are using GSM, Google Voice, Fring/Skype or SIP. Microphone is not great. I have not had a chance to check if the noise cancellation helps or hinders this, but the idea seems sound (pardon the pun).

(5) Phone build quality
Overall good. The process of removing the back plate is a little janky. Incidentally, when you remove the backplate the camera and little speaker assemblies are exposed, not cool.

(6) How well it handles multiple applications
No problems for me. But it *is* weird to me that very few of the apps have an "exit" choice on the menu. The N97 also runs multiple apps at the same time, but there is always an "exit" option. The first Android Market item I downloaded was Advanced Task Killer - very useful.

(7) Quality of the web browser
OK. Dolphin Browser has pinch and reformats the page nicely. Downloaded Opera Mini but have not made it work yet. Neither the native Android browser nor Dolphin appear as to be as good as Opera Mobile on the N97. Hoping for Opera Mobile for Android soon.

(8) Other comments
Camera: Just not good enough, sorry. N95 and N97 much better. 2x zoom not enough

External Speaker: Not good enough. Not loud enough and tinny also. N97 and N95 are better (and stereo, if that counts)

Storage: This is the single biggest issue for me. There's not enough. Only 512 flash on board and can address a card up to 32 gb. I put a 16gb card in it, but I still need more. N97 comes with 32gb on board and addresses a card up to 16 gb for a total of 48gb. I know that some folks are saying that you dont need storage for your media because you can stream it all anyway, but what if you are in a place with no 3g or wifi? Besides, I have already paid for my music once, why should I pay (subscription or data charges) again. And both of those will kill the battery anyway.

FM Radio: Apparently, it's on the chip, but not enabled. My last 3 Nokias have had it and I used it quite a bit. Great for news, sports and weather, if not for music.

Keyboard. I really really like a physical keyboard. My old Treo was awesome and the N97 is pretty good (although only 3 lines of keys). While the enabling of speech to text in all text fields is a help, I am wondering how long it's going to take me to get used to the virtual keyboard. My fingers are just too fat to use this in portrait mode, landscape is easier. The Droid keyboard was a non-starter for me because the keys were not raised at all and there was no gap between them (not ulike the virtual keyboard, actually!)

If you did not have a Google Voice account before, you do now. I had applied for a Google Voice invitation when first they were offered, to no avail. When I got the Nexus and dove into the settings one of them was for voicemail. I was asked if I wanted to use Google Voice for my voicemail and when I answered "yes" it proceeded to set everything up for me. I later confirmed this via the Google website and even chose my own personalized number.
