- Reception and call quality Sprint has great coverage in Denver so the call quality is good and, more importantly, I rarely drop calls.
- Display Love the 4.3 inch display! It would be perfect if it was one of the newer techs like SAMOLED Plus, but it is very nice anyways.
- Battery life That big display and fast processor will suck down the battery unfortunately. I have seen much better battery life after rooting and going with CyanogenMod 7.
- Camera No comments
- Ease of use I have never had any issues with the device or Android itself. It is very easy to use even with the amazing control and customization that Android provides.
- Design and form factor Love the display and I especially love how much of the front of the device is display. The bezel, front camera area, and button area is very minimal.
- Portability (size / weight) This is a big phone, but I have not once found it to be too big. It fits just fine into my pockets and fills up my oversized hands quite nicely.
- Media support Accepts every form of media I have thrown at it so far.
- Durability I have had the phone for nine months now and it is still in very good condition. I have never had it in a case and it even has survived a few drops.
- Ecosystem (apps, accessories, etc.) The apps are great, and getting better by the day. The Android ecosystem has been amazing. I do not care much for accessories, but the HTC dock is very nice.
Detailed review
This phone was a substantial upgrade over the iPhone 3G. The form factor is large but the benefits of the screen and the solid feel of the device are very welcomed. The official Froyo update from HTC eliminated the few small issues that I had with the device in the first few months leaving me with a very stable and capable OS. Also, if you live in a Sprint 4g coverage area you will love the data speeds!
The device is very open to rooting and running custom ROMs and taking this step really allowed the device to shine. This phone is amazing running Gingerbread. CyanogenMod 7 (both stable releases and nightlies) have really made this phone seem like a new device and really extended the battery life.
The one complaint that I do have with device is the relatively outdated GPU. The 1ghz Snapdragon processor is plenty fast, but the Adreno 200 GPU leaves a bit to be desired. Some graphically higher intensive games do tend to lag a bit behind what the processor itself is capable of.
