Detailed review
I've had the phone for about a week and used with the stock rom. This would be my 3rd Android phone (G1, Sprint Hero, EVO). My initial summary was that it was much faster than the Hero. Everything loaded with lag. But the major drawback was the battery life. With mild use (a few texts, calls and some wifi web browsing) and all of the settings off (BT, wifi, 4g, gps) I was able to make it 10-12 hours, which was miserable.

I recently upgraded the rom using XDA, and used something more "optimized". With the same settings, 10-12 hours of mild use would still leave me with about 25% batterly life left, which is a huge increase. The upgrade also allowed me to remove all of Sprint Crap Apps like SprintTV, Sprint Nascar, etc.

In summary, I would not recommend the EVO with the stock rom simply because the battery was so bad, but with the upgraded one, I definitely give it a 2 thumbs up.
