Does anyone know if Verizon ever pushed the Android 2.1 firmware update to this device?
I've been looking around and I can't see if it was pushed ota or not. My sister just got one that's coming on Wednesday, and I wanted to see. Thanks!

I feel as though this is the bottom of the line Android based phone, would you concur? Is it equal to the Moto Droid?
If I were to say I'll trade you my Eris for your Droid, would that be a fair trade?

I really dislike my Droid eris HTC.
And ever since this most recent upgrade, my phone takes forever to dial once you click on the contact you are trying to call. This keyboard seems to have a mind of its own. If I'm ever in dire need of 911, I'm in trouble :-(
My Eris just started launching apps (skype mobile, mp3 music store, and voice dialer) completely on its own. Started happening 2 days ago.
I have read in some forums that this is good thing, but it has never happened before, and it is killing my battery. Any solutions?

2.1 update for Eris Doesnt include voice to text?
I updated my eris but the feature seems missing. I want to talk to the phone to enter text messages and it is my understanding that the incredible and other phone on 2.1 can do it just fine. they have a little mic icon on the keyboard. my eris does not. Can anyone confirm that this feature is not present on the eris. and if it is missing, what is the best alternative?
Doid Eris broken screen
I had my Eris in my pocket -- It had a rubbery sleeve around the sides and back (though not the screen) and a screen protector plastic sheet over the screen. Despite all this, the screen broke while the unit was in my pocket -- I must have knocked it against something. The screen would still illuminate and the phone could still be answered when it rang, but the screen itself was non-responsive, and had a "star" broken impact-pattern on the glass -- just like a windshield ding. Droid Eris, Palm Pre Plus or HTC Incredible for Verizon
I have an old silver voyager and my contrat is over on april 25th. you can get the buy one get one free promotion right now for the eris and pre plus. The incredible is rumored to be coming out next week. I hate the droid because of the lip and i dont care about the nexus one. Can someone tell me which one to pick and why. keep in mind the build quality, software/OS and app store. Dont give any suggestions for other phones because im only picking from these.

Do you disable SenseUI?
I've been leaving Sense running since I got the Eris back in January. I personally feel the appearance of the phone looks much cleaner and sleeker than running the default Home. As for speed, I've noticed very very very slight speed improvements by disabling Sense but not enough to make me disable it full time.

2.1 is available via leaked ROM
It appears a leaked 2.1 Rom is available now at XDA developers site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=6... I installed and it appears to be working nicely

problem with eris, multiple wallpapers for multiple homes
i have open home, dxtop, ahome, and of course the htc home.. the problem im having is when i change the wallpaper on my htc home, all my other homes change too.. so i go to the next one ( lets say dx top) and change the wallpaper so it will be different from my htc home i chose, and it changes them all to what i selected for dxtop.. so i move on to the next one ( lets say open home) and repeat process and have tried in every way i know possible, even skins, and themes do the same, it just makes...

Free with new contract on Amazon
I just posted that Amazon has the Droid for $50 with new/renewed contract, which is such an amazing deal that I'm going to juggle that and my iPhone service. Alternatively, Amazon had the Eris for $10, which is about as close to free as they'd get, right? Wrong, it's free now, for what is sure to be a limited time. Get a new contract or renew an out of contract service and get the Eris for $0.01....

Cannot initiate calls with Bluetooth on HTC Droid Eris
My wife and I just got new phones and we can't get the bluetooth to initiate a call. Verizon store says this is not available on these phones. Verizon phone support says it is a compatability issue with my bluetooth device which is a fairly new plantronics discovery 925. It makes absolutely no sense to me that the phone programing would omit this ability and the previous phone (razor) worked fine. Any suggestions? Anyone else using this app, either free or paid versions. I like it, using the free version. Don't like the lack of Facebook support, but it's coming they say, and after it gets updated with it I may upgrade if I still like it.
