Detailed review
I love my HTC Dream - it has a nice big touchscreen, a great trackball, the keys are well spaced out, the microphone is good quality, and the slide mechanism feels good quality. The only negative about the hardware is that the chin makes it harder to type on one half of the keyboard. But the software is where the HTC Dream really shines. As the first Android phone, it integrates perfectly with my Google contacts and calendar, and my mail is instantly pushed to my phone. For 3rd party developers like me, the Android platform that the G1 runs is excellent. Every part of the phone can be replaced with 3rd party software. The Android Market is a great distribution platform, and the APIs available to developers are great. The software could use a bit more polish, and the phone could really use just a bit more speed - but overall, excellent phone, excellent software.
good review!
