Who would you want to build the next "Nexus" device and why?

PlayStation Suite becomes PlayStation Mobile and heads to HTC devices

During tonight's Sony press conference, they announced that PlayStation Suite, which allows downloading of PlayStation games and other content to mobile devices, would be a) renamed to PlayStation Mobile and b) would be coming to HTC devices. Currently it's only available on Sony Mobile phones and the PlayStation Vita.

The New York Times is reporting that Facebook is considering building its own smartphone -- for the third time. According to the article, the social network has hired away a bunch of Apple's iPhone and iPad developers, and sees developing its own phone as a top priority:

There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S III has an impressive spec sheet. Even though the phone doesn't bring much new to the table, it appears that it will be competing with HTC's One X for the throne atop the Android mountain. So the One X has twice the storage space of the S, the V is the only one with expandable local storage, the One X is (to the best of my knowledge) the only one with NFC, the One S has slightly last-gen specs,...

HTC is going to be making fewer devices in 2012 in favor of quality. Good move or bad move?

This is a bit old as it came out last week but HTC has said they are looking to make less devices to try and find that special device. Motorola has also said they are planning to do this. This just leaves Samsung as the only other major Android manufacture who goes overboard on Android releases.

The US Copyright Office in 2010, stated Jailbreaking iOS devices is legal. Now this exemption is running out. I would like to hear what you think about rooting or jailbreaking. Google will now be requiring an unmodified Holo theme be available on all devices. Is this a good move for Android?

This is pretty big news for Google and hopefully one more step closer in providing a more unified UX/UI on Android. As it stands now when manufactures put out their phones they can force apps to use their customized skin. By requiring that they keep Holo intact on the phone this will allow for app developers to choose between the Holo theme or letting the skin take over when users launch their apps.

How do you feel about this and if you're an Android user are you excited for the change?

Samsung S2: The best phone currently out there?

I've just got the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It's stunning! I'm surprised just how great is it (certainly compared to my old HTC Desire Z). The specs don't, though lie the S2 is the better phone but, for me, it looks butt ugly (too square I think). It also doesn't have ICS yet (though I'm sure it's only a matter of time). But is the S2 the best phone out there overall? The specs suggest so, it beats everything bar iPhone 4S's screen resolution from what I can see. It's a shame it's a little boxy.... Read more →

I say yes. I am not an iphone fan, I am too tied to my google products (gmail, google calendar, google voice) to move to the iphone. More than anything I am baffled about how little I have touched my laptop since getting my Thunderbolt.

(All on ATT):: In June I sold off my iPhone 4 and went to the HTC One X. I have an extra upgrade on my account and I have a buyer for the One X, so the question is this: do I stay in the HTC vein and get the One X+ or jump for the iPhone 5?
I do miss iMessage and AirPlay. All of my friends have iOS, so FaceTime is a standard. I have all the apps I need for both iOS and Android so I am not torn by ecosystem.

What's the difference between HTC J and HTC One S?

details

I've read that HTC J is just a WiMAX equipped Japanese variant of the One S. What else don't they have in common aside from their size and physical appearance?

Will the HTC J really have a microSD slot? Will it also only allow a microSIM, or will it be using a normal-sized one? How about the processor, display, casing material, etc.?

(Sorry for bombarding you with all these questions; I'm just really curious.)

My iPhone 4 needs to be replaced. I tried to accomplish the task with a Lumia 800, but as you can read in my review, it didn't go as hoped. Since I am a Telus employee/customer the contenders for my next device include: the HTC One S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
As I see it the strengths of the HTC are the camera and the build quality, but it falls short in the qHD PenTile display, and Sense 4 (even if it is greatly improved).

HTC One S build quality issue?

I heard about the problem regarding the black (the micro arc oxidation treated one) One S 'casing' easily chipping off on its own. It has also come to my knowledge the HTC will let customers who have already purchased one return it and get a replacement unit. However, I was wondering: if this is the case, what reassurance do they have that the replacement unit will not encounter the same problem? Any news on whether there's already a solution to whatever's causing it to happen? Thanks!

Which 4g phone should I buy?

I have AT&T with a grandfathered unlimited data plan but prefer Verizon's performance. I am using an iphone 3gs. Itunes frakked my music collection and I hate it. I need Exchange support, though we do have a BES in house. Security is the most important. Had a BB curve a couple of years ago it was SOOOooo Slow and I had to pull the battery so often, I installed the battery puller app.

micro-sim and adapter from iphone 4s into a htc radar 4g

hi basicly i have brought a htc radar, but my sim is a microsim, i have a adapter, i was just wondering if i put the sim in the adapter and then into the radar, will i be able to remove it again? i know that in the 3gs, if you put a microsim +adapter in it gets stuck, but in like the galaxy s and others it slides in and out fine, i just wonerred before i risk breaking the phone to try, has anyone else got a htc radar and using a microsim? thanks :)
