Having spent quite a bit of time with my Samgsung Focus (WP7), I'm pretty happy with the OS, but the more I use this mobile OS the more I miss webOS. WP7 has numerous features that appear webOS inspired: fast app switching, toasting notifications, even live tiles provide up-to-date information like Palm's cards. So I ask you, gdgt community, is lusting after the HP Pre 3 a sign of mental illness and should I stick with an active platform like WP7?

UK USERS - HP Pre3 for £10.50 PM @ CPWH, worth it?
I've been after a Pre3 for so long, I think it just looks like a fantastic phone and I am gutted by HP's decision to end their development of WebOS and the Pre hardware, but my question is- Is the Pre3 worth the £10.50 that Carphone Warehouse are currently selling it for? Granted thats on a 2 year contract with Vodaphone, but I figure you could probably sell the device for £200 in a couple of months and pay out the contract if I change my mind. I've always loved Palm hardware, mainly the...

Are all of the Pre 3s sold out in Europe?
I know they were going to sell for ~$75 after the webOS device discontinuation, and I'm wondering if that price break ever happened. Would love to import one from UK/France...

Best alternative to the Pre?
Okay, so I'm a MAJOR gadget geek. I podcast about gadgets, I know a lot about gadgets, I've used practically every mobile OS on the market and know all of their features.. but I've never actually owned my own smartphone. Money is really tight, and I've been using it for other things (mainly upgrading my computer since it's almost a decade old). I've been running on prepaid phones for the past 8 years, and I'm thinking about making the jump soon. I was going to get the Pre 3, since I absolutely...

Did webOS really ever have a chance to succeed in the mobile world?
It's sad news in the tech world today as HP kills of their tablet and smartphone development. Is this truly the end of webOS? A common meme I've seen over the past year or so with regard to webOS is that "it has a lot of potential." This is something numerous users, critics, colleagues, and even myself have said. It seemed to have a lot of legitimately great ideas, but suffered from extremely poor execution and marketing. It raises an interesting question though. Did webOS *really* ever have a...

When will the HP Pre 3 finally be released?
This summer? I thought it would be available half a month ago, mid July. Even though it's said that they are going to upgrade with a dual core chip (I'm not sure if that's true) It seems to me that it will always going to be the last one to being considered for smart phone geeks. It has so much potential, and I still want to strongly bet for this product, but I think HP isn't acting as fast as they should be doing right now. Do you think is it as relevant as I think it is when are they finally...

Will the Pre 3 camera work with Bar code scanners?
If I remember correctly the palm pre and palm pre 2 didn't really work with bar code scanners because it didn't have auto focus. It just had a pre set focus a certain distance away. I know personally from owning a Pre the camera wasn't real great and the 1 app someone did make didn't seem to work well. Any one know any more info on the camera other than it is 5 megapixels?

What materials are used to make the phone? If anyone has played with it, is it the same as the Pre and Pre 2?

I've been hanging with Palm for a while now. Still rocking my original Pre minus on sprint. But seeing as how I haven't updated phones now in 2 yrs.
I'm starting to yearn for a new phone. Should I feel safe holding out for the Pre 3 to be released, whenever that will be, or should I just get an android phone? Some of the new OS announcements from google at their I/O are very tempting. What if i do hold out till July for the Pre 3? Is there a device that I should choose over it? Remember i'll be on Sprint and that's non negotiable considering how cheap they are for their family plans. All thoughts are appreciated. answer this...

I am excited to see the new WebOs devices. But I am curious what HP will use for their media ecosystem?
After the debacle with iTunes and the original pre I am concerned. My HTC incredible is great but with no integrated media ecosystem I have always been slightly disappointed. Does anyone know what the new HP stuff will have?

What's your next phone going to be?
Now that Mobile World Congress is wrapping up I thought it would be a good time to ask. We've seen a ton of promising new phones announced, launched, or hinted at over the past few weeks, including the Motorola's Atrix 4G and Droid Bionic, Verizon's version of the iPhone 4, Samsung Infuse 4G, Vibrant 4G, Nexus S, and Galaxy S II, Sony Ericsson's XPERIA Arc, XPERIA Pro, and XPERIA Play, HTC Thunderbolt, 7 Pro, ChaCha, Salsa, Incredible S, Desire S, and Inspire 4G, LG's...
