For a reasonable price, the HP MediaSmart Server EX495 is a great network storage, content managing, and backup device for home and small business environments. It offers stellar performance, a great backup solution, and remote access options that are easy to use.

Despite some of the problems I encountered, MediaSmart is still leading the pack among home servers by supporting many features that are not available in other network storage devices. It's far from perfect, but definitely still leads the WHS product market.

HP sure knows how to make a Windows Home Server. The company has been at it for years now and the latest model does just about everything better than the previous models. That’s how it’s suppose to be.

HP has managed to make a great networked storage system even better. The HP MediaSmart Server EX495 is an excellent storage device for enthusiasts, but also for small businesses... the MediaSmart Server series continues to impress and at the moment, this is our network storage device of choice.
