We appreciate the company's effort to temper features with price, and while the 6z is capable enough to handle your everyday computing needs, the underpowered AMD APU isn't a great performer -- and you can do better without spending much more, as even the Envy Ultrabook 6t starts at just $800.

HP's Envy Sleekbook line is meant to be a low-cost alternative to Ultrabooks, and the $599 Sleekbook 6 largely delivers on that promise. It's thin, light, good-looking — and underpowered compared to more-expensive Ultrabooks. If your needs are modest (i.e., web browsing, light productivity applications, media playback, and some games), and you want to save a few hundred dollars, it's a decent computer. But if you want true Ultrabook performance, you should skip it and be prepared to spend a little more.
