A bland effort, the HP Envy 23 has nothing to recommend it over other Windows 8 touch-screen all-in-ones.

Prices start at just $1,050, but when fully loaded like this test machine, the Envy 23 hits a whopping $1,720. Despite the high-end specs, that’s a lot to swallow for a computer that feels a little unfinished. Hopefully, driver updates in the near future will rectify some of these shortcomings.

It’s certainly not a desktop that’s aimed towards a specific group of users, so if you’re looking for an all-around Windows 8 machine for the entire family, the ENVY all-in-one series meets the mark.

With its TV features, great processing power and quality design, the Envy 23 is definitely worth four stars. The only things that really hold it back are shoddy audio, a TN panel and a somewhat pointless touch experience.
