Detailed review
You won't confuse the HMDX Jam with a high-end Bluetooth speaker like the Jawbone Jambox or Braven 650. However, at about $40, it's one of the cheapest Bluetooth speakers currently available, and it's also small enough to take with you to the park, pool, or beach. It's the perfect size to fit in a car's cup holder, making it a good emergency speaker if you're stuck riding with someone who never bothered upgrading his car stereo, and you want to share your playlists. It gets loud enough to fill a small room, and the sound quality is adequate for casual listening, though it does tend to distort a fair amount at higher volumes. Still, it's a good speaker for its price, and is perfect to take places where you may not want to bring a more expensive Bluetooth speaker.

I'm curious, in your testing was the scent of the speaker noticeable?
LowTechDad

That's funny; I did sort of notice something faintly fruit scented when I first opened the Jam jar, but thought it was just my imagination.

I just purchased this speaker at Bed Bath and Beyond and I also noticed a smell emitting from it. Not sure what that's about.
