- Speed and features This thing has gotten noticeably faster since the first day. It's still pretty slow, but looks promising.
- Design and form factor May be my favorite notebook design, ever.
- Battery life Easily lasts all day.
- Display Let's face it, the display is not great. Decent resolution at 12" - 1280x800, but terrible viewing angles. This is a test device, after all.
- Durability Strong build quality. Great keyboard, tight display hinge.
- Expandability After watching the Citrix demonstrations, anything is possible with these things. Chrome could eventually be considered a viable work environment.
- Noise Solid state = silent. The unit does tend to get warm, which kicks on the fan.
- Portability (size / weight) This notebook is the perfect size, in my opinion. It could be lighter, but not a "deal-breaker".
Detailed review
I honestly never considered Chrome OS as a personal environment before getting the Cr-48. I'm a software designer and developer, and can now actually see myself using this unit as my every-day personal computer. I have already begun recommending Chrome to my friends and family.
It's slow at times, and there is a ton of work to be done. But if you like to be on the cutting edge, and are used to testing products, the Cr-48 is a win-win proposition.
Put simply, it's awesome.
