Yesterday/Today Google announced the availability of Chromebooks in 6 new countries, including Canada.

None will have 3G connectivity. Is this a big issue for you, current Chromebook owners?

(Also, side question... good for non-tech parents?, I see mine freaking out when they realize there is no Microsoft Word)

I don't really know linux too well since my past dabblings have most involved becoming frustrated while trying to get hardware to work well, before eventually giving up and going back to the mindlessness of OS X. For some reason I really want to buy a Chromebook Pixel though, but I'm just not sure what I'll do when I want to get actual work done. The answer seems to be install Ubuntu, which I'm open to doing. However, I'm just wondering how well that's going to work out in reality.
